Light a Candle
Theron “Terry” L. Hollinshead, 79, of Portland Oregon passed away December 31, 2017, after an extended battle with dementia. Terry was the only child born to his parents Allen Hollinshead and Agnes (Kelley) Hollinshead on September 22, 1938 in Portland Oregon. He moved to Kelso with his parents as a young child and attended Kelso schools. He graduated from Kelso High School in 1956. Terry was enlisted in the Navy for two years after high school. He married Karen Brateng in 1960 and later divorced. He then married Clarice Chilson in 1965 and also later divorced. Terry was a man of many trades. He worked at Longview Fibre until 1961, after which he moved to Oregon to work for Tektronix. He spent many years after that working in sales and his final, and most enjoyed job, was working for Trimet as a driver. He resided in Hillsboro from 1970 until 2007 when he moved to a foster care home in Portland OR. Terry is survived by two daughters and two sons: Lisa (Hollinshead) Heuer of Salem, Orego, Jeff Hollinshead of Lake Havasu, Arizona, Jason Hollinshead of Portland Oregon, and Tamara (Hollinshead) Thompson of Ninilchek Alaska; Five grandchildren: Rebecca Buffum, Steven Heuer, Samantha Peer, Courtney Hollinshead, Skyler Hollinshead; and 4 great-grandchildren: Kaiden, Jaxen, Jolie, and Colt. Special thanks to his friend, and caregiver, Nicole Burton at Loving touch Adult Foster Care. No service will be held. Terry’s ashes will be placed at Pleasant Hill, Stockport Cemetery with his parents.
